I'll give it a B+. A pretty good climate with winters being near ideal but summers are a little too hot and humid. I would also prefer a little less rainfall.

Don't you think you are being just a tad bit biased towards Australia by giving Canberra a B-. Canberra has roughly 55 days a year with a low below freezing. Biloxi on average has 18 days a year below freezing. The decile 9 min temp in Canberra is 23.7F. The daily avg Jan temp in Biloxi is 8.5F warmer than Canberra's July average.

From your posts you have made it clear you hate low temps below freezing along with snow and ice. There is absolutely no way you can claim that Canberra is warmer in winter than Biloxi. The record low of 10F was in 1963. The lowest temp in Canberra in the last thirty years was 16.5F.

Somehow I imagine a city in the US with Canberra type numbers getting a D or F from you.

Gee, I wonder how many people on here are biased towards the US? Surely not many?

That 6.5 fahrenheit makes all the difference. There are also 0.1 days a year where the daily high does not reach freezing in Biloxi (about once every 10 years). Canberra has never had a subfreezing high .. Not to mention Canberra is not prone to hurricanes or even tornadoes which Biloxi is

I chose Perth over San Diego, Sydney over Atlanta, etc. I also prefer winters with milder nights, but I give a lot of weight to summer nights as well. Canberra has pretty cold nights. I believe it was during the Sydney vs Atlanta thread that Deneb stated the importance of winter low temps being the most important factor.

That once in ten year number still does not make Biloxi a colder city than Canberra. Roughly every ten days during July in Canberra has a low temp in the low 20'sF.

Using your logic, I assume you would consider Canberra warmer than Brownsville, TX, New Orleans, LA, Houston, Mobile, Savannah, etc. etc. All this of course based on record winter lows decades old. I consider myself a warm lover over cold, and I would take that one ice day every ten years over an average winter night in Canberra anyday. How bout the fact that every winter Canberra goes below freezing 55 nights vs 18 in Biloxi. C'mon you seriously can't claim Canberra is warmer based on that.
