I was raised in the St. Louis, MO area until age 12.
My mother and I then moved to Sterling CO.
I remember dealing with cracked skin, coughing and an overall itchy feeling for a long time.
I spent many years living in Denver and Helena Montana.
In 2009 I moved to eastern Pennsylvania for my job.
Finally I'm able to once again feel the " blanket " of moderate to higher humidity.
Alot of people think I'm strange because I love humidity so much.
All I know is that it's good to " feel " home again.

I guess from living in Florida and on a humid coast most of my life - I trend to feel more comfort with at least some humidty. I've been in the southwest deserts of the USA, dry air for long time periods can get uncomfortable. I’ve seen people in the desert towns get nose bleeds so badly they had to call paramedics a few times.

I get uncomfortable sometimes, especially indoors. Certain types of heating systems just suck all the moisture out of the air. But NYC doesn't get very dry often.

My favorite type of weather is a combination of warmth (30°C's) and high humidity.
I usually dislike very dry heat (e.g. 40°C, 10%)
I hate very dry, cold weather.

I am fine with both high and low humidity only when the temp is in the 20-25°C range.
Agreed 100%

The poor quality of housing here in Australia means that both homes and buses are terribly overheated - Melbourne is so warm in winter that no heating at all is needed, yet buses are heated to the point that it makes me desperate to get out. The same thing is true of libraries or lecture theatres.

Melbourne is very dry a lot of the time. It is rarely ever humid.
I don't find it uncomfortable but I do have a couple of annoying little issues with it. My skin is often very dry down here and I do occasionally get nose bleeds. I never had one for 21 years when I lived in Queensland.

Also i find relative humidity percentages to be complete and utter crap anywhere, anytime. For example in winter in Melbourne the relative humidity can be high yet I still have cracked lips and dry skin due to the low temps and low dew point.
