There are a few big CIDP's around, but Chch isn't that big on palms (no where in the South Island is really). I did notice a few bigger Queen palms last time I was down there though. Norfolk Pines are standard issue for coastal towns.

The pic has an late winter/mid spring look to it. It wouldn't usually look that green by summer.

Nalchik undoubtedly has superior summers but that's only a quarter of the year... so I have to go with ChCh due to it being warmer and sunnier for the year as a whole (2 C warmer and 300+ sunshine hours more).
