Brisbane is more comfortable. Average summers in Brissie are no worse than NYC.
Spend an entire summer there and see what you think.
It may look comparable to Perth, but in reality it is much worse.
On a pure comfort level, San Fran wins - hands down.
Both cities would be considered *cold* by some of my friends, locals of Townsville.
Brisbane's summers are definitely anemic. Sticky and cool-to-warm.
Not much different than Toronto summer if you ignore Toronto's summer cold fronts.
Perth's summer sun would knock a Brisbanite on their arse, if they thought their summer was hot!
Then again, San Francisco doesn't really get a summer at all.
I prefer Townsville summer; always warmish-to-hottish though not actually hot (milder than Perth imho)
Although both are terribly warm climates, San Francisco is superior to Brisbane when it comes to my comfort - it's cooler, especially in summertime.
Terribly warm? Come on, SF has the coolest summers of all major towns in the US
I'd obviously pick Brisbane which is truly an excellent climate despite its coolish winters
SF's lack of summer would drive me insane.
