Might as well be 32" of BLASTED snow expected here tomorrow. Wouldn't make much difference given the way things are, it would actually be a hell of a lot more interesting, after all, any warmth or storms are about a billion kujillion miles away from being a reality this year in STENCHgland.

Strange how we're sometimes on the same side. 32 inches of blasted snow sounds like a terrific way to make up for the subpar amount of snow Buxton had this winter. Still, a cold rain and wind storm is better for this time of year .

THIS HAS BEEN AN EXTREME WINTER FOR SEA ICE IN THE BERING SEA AND NOW WE HAVE BROKEN THE RECORDS FOR MOST NUMBER OF DAYS WITH ICE AT BOTH SAINT PAUL ISLAND AND SAINT GEORGE ISLAND.

AS OF TODAY SEA ICE HAS BEEN AT SAINT PAUL ISLAND FOR 103 DAYS THIS WINTER BREAKING THE PREVIOUS RECORD OF 100 DAYS SET IN 2010

THE NUMBER OF DAYS WITH SEA ICE AT SAINT GEORGE ISLAND TOTALED 79 WHEN THE ICE RETREATED NORTH ON THE 25TH OF APRIL. THE PREVIOUS RECORD OF 60 DAYS WAS SET IN 2010.

THE SEA ICE EDGE TODAY IS WELL SOUTH OF SAINT PAUL ISLAND AND ICE IS LIKELY TO REMAIN AT THE ISLAND THROUGH THE MIDDLE OF MAY.

THE SEA ICE IS NORTH OF SAINT GEORGE ISLAND TODAY BUT ICE IS FORECAST TO PUSH SOUTH OF THE ISLAND OVER THE WEEKEND DUE TO COLD NORTH WINDS.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ALASKA SEA ICE PROGRAM BEGAN ARCHIVING DATA IN THE MID 1980'S. SEA ICE DATA PRIOR TO THIS IS VERY LIMITED AND INCONSISTENT

Get your skiing done at Mt Hood, Oregon this weekend. It will be the last chance. Its snowing right now.

Conditions | Mount Hood Meadows Ski Resort

"General Comments: Thanks for joining us for a great season on the slopes. We had right around 550" of snow this season, 100" more than our average! The forecast calls for more snow this week, so we should be sitting pretty for our last two days: May 5th and 6th. If you're still stoked on riding and want to hike, we want to let you know that uphill travel restrictions still apply within the resort even though we're closed midweek"
