There are times when you look at a forecast and start to get concerned. These are one of those times.
Let me first state this forecast is filled to the brim with volatility. So much so that even the National Weather Service to wary of developments right now. Are snowfall too low or too high? Are current observations a trend or just an aberration?
The snow arrived early here - it has been snowing lightly more or less all evening and there is now a new covering of snow over the top of the old one.
We just received our cold front down here in south Florida a couple of hours ago. It's expected to get down into the 50s tonight, and all the windows in the house are open. However it isn't as "cold" as I'd like it to be but it's better than nothing.
Hopefully if my wife and I move up north to TN, GA or somewhere up there, the hot weather will stay down in south Florida, not follow us.
Rumor has it someone got injured in an avalanche on Mt Washington tonight. My question is, who the heck is up there with those wind chills. I thought I would be the only one who wants to. lol
There were thundersnow reports all over the place. As a matter of fact almost all of the snow was accompanied by thunder yesterday evening. This storm featured the greatest number of radar-detected thundersnow strikes I've ever seen (even beating out the Groundhog Day Blizzard).

The wind chill is -50F. That's rough. Who would be up there? Certainly not me, but maybe an Alaskan ?
The warmest place in Sweden right now is Kiruna, in Swedish Lappland, at 2.2C, compared to -9.3C in Stockholm (12:00). How utterly bizarre.
