looking up New England snowstorms, I found the third largest snowstorm Boston has gotten was on April 1. 25 inches. The season had 26 inches of snow so far. Two days previous, it was 63°F in Boston. Inland, Worcester got 33 inches of snow.

So it is possible that this storm will beat the 27.1 record?
I seen 30 inches somewhere. When does the storm start?
It's possible it will beat the record. Outside of Boston, there'll probably be somewhere up in the hills that will be over 27 inches, the question will be how widespread it is.
Storm started almost 2 hours ago here, but snow has been light. We haven't gotten more than an inch yet. Up to 30°F right now (as of 11 am), luckily it's not supposed to get any warmer so rain won't mess anything up.
The heaviest snow is forecast to be in the evening and overnight. Maybe checking a webcam just around sunrise eastern US time saturday morning might be good.

Yes, I think the snow will only getting going when I head to bed. So maybe a check at midnight will show some snow
Cold, Arctic air spilling southwards behind a strong 1038 mb high over Canada will collide with warm, moist air over the Atlantic, where ocean temperatures are unusually warm--about 5°F warmer than average over a large swath from New Jersey to Nantucket, Massachusetts. The contrast between the cold and warm air will help intensify the storm, and the unusually warm waters will pump large quantities of moisture into the air, which will be capable of feeding record-breaking snows over New England. The latest NWS forecast for Boston calls for 22 - 30" of snow by Saturday morning, with additional snows though Saturday afternoon.
"As of 10:00 a.m. ET snowfall accumulations of 15 centimetres were reported in Toronto, and Markham. Toronto hasn't seen a snowfall exceeding 15 centimetres since December 19, 2008."
"The low pressure system is expected to drop up to 35 cm in some parts of the province.."
