This is the 1:40pm map of the temps at roughly 10,00 feet. (700mb)

Northern Maine is below freezing. http://aviationweather.gov/adds/winds/ (choose temps at 9000')

These maps are generated from the RAP model which uses the latest OBS but "projects" upper air temps in between the balloon launches at 12z and 00z.

Low this morning was a chilly 46 F/8 C. I was up early for work so I had to wear a jacket going in. High reached 74 F/23 C but it felt quite warm due to the cool start and strength of the sun.

Forecast to drop down to 46 F/8 C again tonight. Warm day tomorrow with a high of 79 F/26 C.

Low Temps last 3 nights for Climo sites in CT. Todays subject to change after updates, GON, HFD and IJD have been offline

Take note... Danbury (in southwest on the hills 456' elevation) has had lower temps than Windsor Locks (northern, CT 186' elevation).

69°F now. No cross breeze, but the cool down at night probably helps. I got four windows, too.

You guys ready for some heat???? I dont see widespread 90s north of Virginia like last month but local 90s will be popping up here and there. Big Cities and locations with commercial airliners of course. lol

Here's a little tid bit for you.

Normally Washington D.C in August gets to 90°, 9.7 times.

2012 they got to it 15 times
2011: 12 times
2010: 13 times
2009: 12 times
2008: 9 times
2007: 16 times

2013.... 2 times so far

I know some of you like to see the averages, so I added them here.

Here's a look at the Month to Date temp mean and departures so far for each site. (AccuweatherPro)

The more I look the more I'm impressed.

Only twice in the last 24 days has Northern CT (BDL) been above normal with the daytime temp.
