Sunshine + warmer airtemp + higher sun angle can make a person feel warmer when swimming in chilly water.

My favourite Canadian climate: Coastal British Columbia
My favourite Scandinavian climate(s): Iceland, Coastal Southern Norway (Bergen, Stavanger...), Denmark, Southern Sweden, but I don't like Finland's.

I hate climates like Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Regina and Thunder Bay, so I prefer Scandinavia.

Also, you don't really need bathing suits in Scandinavia.

Also, a friend who lives in Montreal posted this on facebook:

I like cold, but we're a week before official spring start...

The Atlantic and Pacific in Canada is really really chilly. And those places don't have at all warmer summers than we do.

The Baltic Sea is much warmer. Neither are the Canadian coasts sunnier.

You are simply wrong.

You're mostly right but I've heard that PEI beaches have water temps warmer than anywhere north of New Jersey. PEI is well known in Canada for it's beautiful beaches, summer tourism is big for the island.
Summer air temps average highs 23-24C range (mid 70s F) lows 13-14C range (mid to upper 50s F).

As for sunnier, not too sure about that either, Victoria, BC is pretty darn sunny in summer,
can't get much sunnier, LOL Even with a cloudy winter they average about 2200 sunshine hours,
no in Scandinavia can match.

Canada. I especially like climates like Winnipeg, Regina, Thunder Bay, and Saskatoon, as well as most of NWT and Labrador

Osoyoos, BC is the best climate in Canada. Better than anything in Scandinavia at least.

In terms of weather I prefer some places in Canada. In terms of beauty I prefer Scandinavia.
