Which climate is better for quality of life?

Baltimore's winters aren't as cold and harsh, but their summers are more humid and hot. The differences are negligible apparently, and some could say that the cities aren't that far apart in climate.

Chicago is less sunny however and you can go many days even in summer without seeing the sun. The good thing is they aren't all in a row like other cities, but Chicago is cloudier than Baltimore. This of course is a plus for me who needs to stay away from strong sunlight. I know Baltimore isn't Arizona but it's definitely sunnier than Chicago.

Winter seems to suck more in Maryland as snow seems to inconvenience people more. In Chicago winter only gets in the way when the snow is about 5 feet or so.

Thoughts?

I prefer Baltimore's summers and Chicago's winters

Here is Chicago/MDW's average highs and lows

and here is Baltimore's (BMI)

as for sunshine hours according to this site Chicago averages 2508 hours and Baltimore 2582 hours so not much of a difference there. Supposedly those are the 1961-1990 averages (using the Foster sunshine recorder).

Baltimore easily. heat and humidity always wins over cold and gloom.
