Some widespread very low sunshine totals a quarter of the way through the month, which will probably still be very low at half way given the forecast:
Prestwick, Scotland - 4.7 hours (2% of total monthly expected sun)
Aldergrove, Northern Ireland - 6.3 hours (4%)
Bala, Wales - 8.8 hours (5%)
Not so bad in England though, with nearly everywhere in the 15-25% range. Leeming is on 34.1 hours (20%), though I doubt if we've had that much where I live.
Selected British sunshine totals as of midday on the 16th, halfway through the month:
Lerwick: 60.3 hours (38% of total monthly average)
Prestwick (Glasgow): 27.1 hours (13%)
Edinburgh: 44.8 hours (24%)
Aldergrove: 33.7 hours (19%)
Leeming: 64.8 hours (38%)
Filton (Bristol): 96 hours (48%)
Heathrow (London): 95.6 hours (54%)
St Helier: 133 hours (no average given)
A very slow start for parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland, where May is usually a relatively sunny month. Temperatures everywhere close to average or slightly below, so this will probably be the first month since November not to be at least a degree above average.
