At the behest of , I have initiated the much-awaited climate battle between our two dream climates. The original source for my dream climate is here, and my competitor's original is here.

My dream climate, which is named Patricianopolis, features very cold and very snowy winters coupled with short and pleasantly warm summers. The precipitation pattern peaks in spring and autumn, with a trough in winter and a deeper trough in summer that produces a true dry season, albeit a weak one. Snow falls from September to May, with June snow being uncommon and snow in July and August being rare. Snowfall is abundant, and from November to March blizzards are a regular occurrence. Windstorms are frequent throughout the year, with gale-force gusts being common year-round and gusts in excess of 50 mph often occurring outside of summer. Summer lows are typically quite stable, typically staying in the 40's, with variance down to 35F or up to 55F being normal. Humidity is low year-round, and thus lows or dew points above 60F are rare, and there have been some periods where years have gone by with no lows of 50F or warmer. When heat waves (80+ F) occur in summer it's typically a very dry heat and thus nighttime lows remain as they were or even become cooler. In a typical year, the hottest reading is 82F and the coldest reading is -42F.

assesses my climate as having very long winters where extreme cold and snow is commonplace, coupled with a short, mild summer as an interlude. Winter lasts from about the middle of September to the middle of May.

Next up is my competitor in this climate battle, 's dream climate. The creator describes it as a four-season Continental Mediterranean climate featuring warm to hot summers and cold winters. Spring and Autumn are extended and feature mild temperatures. Sunshine and precipitation is highly seasonal. Summer is very sunny with low precipitation. Spring, Autumn, and Winter are cloudier and feature higher precipitation. The entirety of this climate's snowfall comes in the period from late November through early March.

I assess 's climate as having winters that are shorter and quite mild with rain being as common as snow, and featuring longer and unrelentingly hot summers.

For anyone that is interested in such things, the Koeppen type for Patricianopolis is Dsc, and the Trewartha type is E. All of these correspond to the subarctic climate type. For my competitor's climate, the Koeppen type is Csa (Dsa if the 0C isotherm is used), and the Trewartha type is Cs. All of these correspond to the broader Mediterranean or Continental Mediterranean climate group.

Strangely enough, despite the vast differences, both of our dream climates feature a summer dry season, and have a "Mediterranean" precipitation pattern.

Below are Wikipedia-style weather boxes for our two climates:

In case the images go bad due to link rot in the future, I've included text-based backups from the original sources:

I absolutely hate 's dreary March and November. All the other months are better though, in particular I love the fabulously sunny and very warm summer, unlike PM's anemic one.

Hence I'll vote for 's climate

Definitely Patricianopolis for me, though I guess that's no surprise. Although 's climate looks good except for June through September (and I'm guessing the end of May and beginning of October).

Already there are some interesting remarks. I overlooked that my climate's competitor has dreary months unappealing to Dhdh. Keep those replies coming . I wonder if has voted yet .

Absolutely, to a point that those horrific sunshine hours would make me choose to spend a March in Patricianopolis in a heartbeat instead, as much as I hate cold

April to October is so immensely superior (to me) in your "competitor"'s climate that I have to chose it overall though

I am glad that you love the summers in my dream climate and find it fabulous from June to September for 4 months. It is even sunnier and warmer than Nice’s summer, and sunnier and much drier than Singapore for those months.

I am not surprised that you don’t enjoy March and November.

I don’t find the weather in March and November to be dreary for that time of the year. I find it enjoyable, relaxing, and cozy for that time of the year just as much as the summer.

I equally enjoy the very sunny summer, and very cloudy early spring/late autumn/parts of the winter and just find that to be good strategic timing in the year.

Are your opinions for clouds and rain different when the weather is warmer? I assume it is.

Singapore has plenty of very wet months, and December in Singapore actually gets the same amount of November precipitation as my climate with the same exact amount of precipitation days. It is still sunnier than November and March (and much warmer), but my dream climate still has 4 much sunnier/drier months than Singapore.

By the way, that is awesome that you go between Nice France, Hong Kong China, and Singapore. That looks like a lot of fun to travel and live in those different places!

I'd die in your climate. Your January averages are beyond anything I've ever experienced or wish to experience. 236 inches of snowfall?? That's 70 times the amount of snow we've had this past winter. Lol no thank you. I'm shocked that anyone would want to suffer through such inhumane treatment.

TPP&F's winter is far too cold for me, and the lack of sunshine hours during some months looks very depressing. But as a whole it's MUCH closer to my dream climate.
