i know where youre coming from , but i can sure feel when my skin is burning - maybe i have a sixth sense then lol - the sun feels stronger as the UV increases through the year no ? a 21c sunny day in June feels stronger than a 21c sunny day in October ,unless i'm just aware of it
Doesn't the UK do the sun smart message over there? - by the time you think you are burning, you already have been burnt. That's the danger of high UV.
While sun angle and UV have a correlation, don't assume they are the same.
Thermal sensation isn't UV either - a mistake many learn the hard way.

It's was more about certain sun tanning salons Joe - hence the orange look you get these days from tanning sprays (have been popular for a while) - most folk here don't really do the sun thing - that safe sun thing was done some years ago and the real culprit was the booths - so they became the natural focus .
If anything ,the message of recent months is to get out in the sun for 30 mins a day -walk about - not hide away - vitamin D seriously lacking and now causing problems

Okay. I don't know anything about tanning salons, other than that they're banned in Australia.
Not sure of his preferences, But I'm guessing he would choose the lower lower sunshine of Hastings, for higher temperatures.
Each to their own, but I have noticed that in discussions on here over the years, the posters preferences typically seem different to the general perception in NZ -eg: Auckland and Whangarei seem to be favoured more than they are in NZ
