I agree with PM, I don't like bird noises. I prefer waking up in the morning with a totally quiet environment. That's why I like cold, snowy frosty mornings, because there's little sound and it's just totally quiet.. bliss

Maybe some of the birds in certain regions (and countries) sound better or more annoying than others?

Fresh snow is very good at muffling traffic noises.

I used to think there was something wrong (maybe ecologically unhealthy) if an outdoor area lacked bird noises, at least in the warmer months. Another mark in favor of spring and summer for me.

Bird noises still seem pretty common even in places like suburbs or in cities (where there's at least some parks/greenery) quite often.

The American Robin's sounds/song seems like one of the most common ones that can be heard all across the continent, and one that is often symbolic of spring.

I don't like the outside to be completely silent. That signals something is wrong and creeps me out. A little bit of ambient sound like what you would think of on a very cold, still morning is best for me.

I find some birds more annoying than others, especially the higher-pitched ones that shriek.

Well that's true, but during snowfalls here the outside goes dead quiet.. very peaceful and quaint.

Kookaburras in the morning certainly make a lot of noise. Bellbirds and Tuis are at it before the sun rises, year round.

Looks like a nice day in Toronto today.

Summer's definitely started here.

91F today. NWS has the high at 94 and it looks like it'll reach it this time around. Yuck.
Fortunately, it's not bad inside without A/C, only 76 right now. The joys of being on the first floor.

I've been acclimating a bit as I was sleeping under the blanket with the windows open last night (only got down to 68ish). Unless this summer is another record-breaker, I should handle this fine. So glad I'm not in the South anymore!
