I caved in Wed and Thurs. I relented on my no A/C policy. Sometimes, temptation gets the best of us. Although I think i held out for a respectably long time.

Here I'm so used to needing heating all year round that I dub "turning off the heater", "turning on the Air Conditioning".

"Yes I'm just turning on the AC" I say as I unplug the heater.

Yet another thread on your sudden transformation from a heat lover to a cold lover.

I haven't felt the need for AC yet this summer. That's good as I don't have it.

Indeed, though he's a heat-hater, not a cold-lover. It would be better off if he used the previous thread. Anyway, it is a respectably long time not to use air conditioning, especially in the eastern Pennsylvania climate. If I were in some parts of Alaska, as opposed to the East Coast's climate, I wouldn't need to use air conditioning until now, perhaps not ever in the summer. Coastal Alaska is like Buxton in that "heat off" is the milestone instead of "A/C on".

Well if you didn't turn on your A/C for this heat wave, there's no point in having A/C. I'm ok right now, but if I had A/C I would use it. One more day, anyway, it's not really worth it for such short times.

79°F inside.

I was in Washington State in a public library in July and the librarian apologized she didn't have the heat on.

What was the inside temperature? I doubt it was anything below 60F, and even if it was 55F is a nice indoor temperature to wrap up in both clothes and books (for me anyway; I know that's too cold for most people).

I don't know, i don't remember being cold but it felt a bit coolish. I was spending a lot of time outside so I was more used to cooler temperatures, thought the heat comment was kinda silly. Maybe 60-65°F, maybe closer to the higher end.

Yeah, he's absolutely tiresome.

I moved to a new flat in Nice last October so that's my first summer here without A/C and I don't have the slightest problem with that (22°C lows for the past week)
