This forecast would sure suit me well. Stable, nothing extreme and no need for AC but still solidly warm. Overall I would be quite happy year-round with NW NJ's climate.

No need for air conditioning? I grant that many might not need one, but I'm not included in that group, seeing as those conditions, at least with my house, would yield indoor temperatures hot enough to cause me to faint.

You should also take extremes into account. I thought I wouldn't need an A/C, but after almost two weeks with highs above 30C and last week averaging 35C, I couldn't take it anymore.

I insist on mild heat exhaustion.

Perfect summer would be a record lowest afternoon high of 82 F/28 C.
Record lowest summer low of 60 F/16 C would do... 66 F/19 C might be better.

I like seeing several weeks continuous where the days are always 89+ F/31+ C.

Probably half of Earth has "cool summers" by my standards.

Sure I said no need for me and only on that particular week.
I know I can deal with the extremes without AC from the heatwaves I spent here but it definitely affects the quality of life. I guess living in NJ I would have AC for these hot and humid spikes. The threshold would be around two weeks in an average summer with evident discomfort, and NJ seems to be right there. Western MA I probably would do without thanks to the cooler nights.

Do you have central AC in Ann Arbor, or bought a portable unit because of the heatwave? Hopefully the big heat will stay out west for the rest of the summer.

I'm having it today. Temperature maxed out at 83 degrees (28.5 or so) from a start at 56 (13 and some). Not cloud one; up to now three hours before sunset we have had 100 percent possible sunshine. Given how wretched a June we just had, this was something I didn't think I would see.

The best part is our spell of real summer is expected to continue through the weekend.

Highs of about 30C/86F, and lows about 20C/68F with moderate humidity. There are never any highs below 22C/72F or lows below 15C/59F. Mostly sunny weather, but every few days there is an afternoon thunderstorm.

No central cooling in my apartment; I bought a unit. If I already had it, I would've used it in May because I'm such a wimp.
