I am not sure who wrote the ASHRA standard but I think they are crazy. 72 is hot and if you are hot in your house than there is no point to air conditioning. Why would you spend 5000 plus operating costs to sweat in your house?

My family keeps the AC at 79 during the day at home and 77 at night. Now that I'm in college and don't have to pay for utilities, I just leave it at 72.

go to the page labelled page 14 on the list, but my pdf viewer considers physically the 20th page. In case of link rot, the pdf came from here:

I'm having trouble finding this link. Any ideas?

72 during day
66 at night

Thermostats are in a centralized spot so rooms are a bit cooler than that

I think there's an unfair bias against air conditioning due to it being a recent invention compared to central heating.
Exactly! It's like AC is to be avoided as a last resort while heat is normal. And I love going into an AC-cooled building on a hot day just as much as sitting in front of a fire on a cold day.

Me too. In fact, I prefer to be warm inside than have it warm outside. (70-75) Still cant put my finger on why yet. Is it cause I'm more active outside?
Larger area of air I need fresh and breathable?
Nice to take a break and step outside for cool air rather than step inside for cool air?
Just interesting weather comes with cooler air?

Probably cause you're sitting still? I'm
comfortable at rather hot and humid temperatures sitting still that I get annoyed at if moving
