Getting reliable sunshine hours of Lima is not easy...If you count the monthly hours of Lima at Wikipedia, it doesn't match the yearly total of 1284 hours. Also...it is not clear of how many years the average is calculated.
If found this data at the statistical yearbook of Peru...seems quite good to me.

That looks more reasonable, with a higher average but not many years of data. Compare with the likes of Arequipa!!

Dunedin data quoted above is out of date. New 30-year average (which is still too low) is 1679 and realistically may be nearer 1750 when old data drops off the running 30-year mean.
Haha. Akureyri is the sunniest town in Iceland. Just not during winter.
