Various sources, including the wikipedia page claims the all time high as 38.8°C(101.8 F).

Ryazan's 40.1 C on August 1 2010 at 54.2 N was the northernmost i could think of.

The Canadian record high was in Alberta I think, 46.2C, which is probably at least 50'N since the US-Canadian border is the 49th parallel. Steele, North Dakota has got to 49C near 50'N too.

[quote=dunno what to put here;25255656]Coldest recorded temperature on earth: −89.2 °C (−128.6 °F) at
Coldest temperature recorded outside Antarctica: −68 °C (−90 °F) at Verkhoyansk and Oymyakon, Russia

There are reports of -110F in Greenland, I believe, though they may be estimates.

ps: I'll be posting a list of good sources for weather records. Many are in larger research libraries.

Default Data sources

Here is my chapter on data sources, from my Annotated Bibliography of Climatic Classification. (The last chapter contains data sources). I zipped it, after saving it as WORD 97-2003 (in case not everyone has WORD 10).

I hope it is useful. --Pegleg
