Yeah, see it once and then you can escape to wherever you live. That's called vacationing. It's different when you have to live in it EVERY single day for months on end. I left Texas to move to Colorado and swore never to go back to visit family in the summer months. Well, plans changed and I dreaded the visit this last June, and as much as I hated the heat and humidity, it wasn't AS BAD as I thought it would be since I was there for only one week and VACATIONING so it was go where I want in casual clothes, visit the pool, the beach, etc. WAAAAAY different then when I was LIVING there.

Yeah, the only saving grace from this hottest June/July ever in Denver was those night temps getting into the low 60s, and couple of high 50s if you are lucky. And those little weak cool fronts that help even if for a day.

We just had a tstorm here and the temp went from 96F (at my house) to 82F in about 15 minutes. I love when that happens in summer.

I hope we have a more "normal" year this year..In fact winter of 2010-11 was perfect!
Dec and Jan of 2010-2011 were far below "average" for Valdosta. This past winter 2012 both Dec and Jan were 5.5F and 5.9F above normal, but 2010-11 Dec and Jan were 8.4F and 3.6F below normal. From NOAA your avg high/low averaged out for the three winter months is 61.4/40F. You are right, you really never have a winter with those average temps. Your winter is April here.

This week could be the last hot week we have here in the DC area. Then I'll have to wait 10 months for it to be hot again.

Want to trade places? I miss having the windows open without feeling like I'm in a steam sauna
