Is that due to drought stress? There are no trees like that here. A lot of trees began to change here in August due to drought stress.
There's a certain kind of tree in the North Carolina / Tennessee mountains that do the same thing in late summer, due to some sort of pest - they turn that exact shade of brown as you see in that pic. But they keep coming back year after year, so I guess it's survivable...lol. When I was a kid, however, I can remember a stand of trees (dunno what kind they were) that were stripped bare in July by some sort of infestation, and those trees re-leafed by September and stayed a lush green all the way into December, when the leaves were finally frozen off.
Unbelievably cold, hard to image such cold in September. Reminds me of early June this year. Ph&%&£ing crap. Highs of 48°F with persistent rain and overcast. This would be sheet for bloody OCTOBER let alone Craptember.

Yeah, I believe some trees in the UK began to lose their leaves due to a certain type of moth.
Frankly I don't remember how they were in my childhood, the pest has been around for long now. But it's true that last year was particularly bad. Some poor trees began to turn brown as early as May and were completely bare by early September. Some even had flowers in late September.
Here it's also the coolest day of autumn so far, with 18.6/6.3°C. Ground min temp was 3°C.
Wow thats cold for paris. Our min lastnight was 4c but the GFS is predicting -1c for saturday night.
We got down to 5.8°C on the first of September (2°C at ground level). I found this too early, but now I'm OK with such lows. Freezing lows are OK from early October onwards.
Btw we're currently cooler than London (8.4°C vs 12.4°C). GFS says 4°C for tomorrow morning.
Last night in Charleville (NE of Paris towards Belgium) it got to 0.6°C, tomorrow will almost certainly be freezing there (they're currently at 3.2°C).

And Afganistan into the 50s. Must be that Warming world we're on.
GFS is showing some very large rain totals next week as low pressure moves SW - NE across the country, with my name on it.
