Really thick fog here. Maybe 1/3 mile visibility in spots. Had 1/2" of rain fall in 45 minutes earlier.

The air is cooler tonight, so it's at least more tolerable and breathable than it has been.

According to EA...it’s warm everywhere in the eastern USA on Friday, places like NYC and Philly should be near 80 F….then the front comes through this weekend and it cools down (and humidity goes way down). Monday will be cool but sunny (highs in the 60’s in most of the Northeast). After that, the return flow quickly changes to WSW again, giving sunny skies and normal to above normal temps for much of the eastern USA next week. NYC should hit near 70 F by Thursday. So I think it would be hard to see temps 5 to 10 below normal. See 2.49 in the video graphics:

You're quoting AccuWeather?

Here's a better source: http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick...10001%2C%20USA

Note that I mentioned the cooldown occuring after friday and was talking about where I personally live being 5-10 F below average for the better part of the week, not NYC. Sure 70 F isn't out of the question and the forecast is likely to change, but right now the highest high I see is 67 F. The rest of the tri-state region will be about the same, if not cooler.

Sunny and 76F today.

The mornings are colder though...today's low was 37F. The weather here has been almost identical to Lhasa in the last week or two, except we've been much much drier than even Lhasa. It's been BONE dry here since mid July, except for a few drizzle days in August and September.

For us in the NYC metro anything below 50 F (for highs) is way too cold for fall. Our normal high in October is in the 60's ....and many days crack 70 F. This Friday, some of the Tri-State area might hit upper 70's to 80 F (NYC maybe). Next week should see 60's and some 70's again.
No not for me for everybody autumn Is in between summer and winter. So highs should be between 30f and 60f.

80f yuck that was my highest temperature this year the though it getting that in October wants to make me jump off a cliff. Daylight hours are just too short.

At least my forecast doesn't noteworthily cold, just a bit below average.

This morning: fog so thick it's hard to see the neighbor's house.
