Heathrow is on the western edge of London and this is typical of the western half of the metropolis and into north Surrey. Central London has warmer winter highs, and you can add 2-3F to the lows in all months.

I'm always interested in places with similar summers to here. Summer minimum temps are warmer than I would have expected in London, and England in general. Greater cloud cover, and shorter nights would be the main reason, but the urban heat effect, must have quite an impact as well.

Guildford has summer mins more in line with here, but still appears to be in a built up area. London is a large area though, so I guess there is going to be some variation.

Guildford isn't part of the London continuous urban area, it's just a commuter town.

Guildford's highs are about 0.5C cooler than Heathrow's in summer, but the lows are 1-2C cooler. Nearby Wisley is probably in the top 5 hottest summer locations in the UK though, after St James's Park, Kew, Heathrow and Gravesend.

D as it's a lot better than where I live now and I quite liked the climate down there.

Gravesend isn't in London and the averages there probably aren't higher than London itself, it just records higher absolute maximums.

The temperature numbers of London are really great, but its sunshine hours are so so so so crappy, that this climate gets a : D-.

If London got at least 1000 more sunshine hours, then it will be a different story (probably a B).

C+ for London. Temperatures are great year round, the sunshine isn't important to me (I tend to overlook sunshine stats as I'm the type of person that doesn't care if it's always sunny or cloudy), but I hate that winter drizzle
