Clear C. Don't get tricked only looking average temps, obviously it look nice... until you see a frequent sudden heatwaves to provide horrible atmosphere.
Sunshine hours are bit too much.

My preference of sunshine hours(less than 1/4th cloud covers) are probably 1300~1800 hours.

Bergen - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Bergen - Bit depressive plus the endless dribble rainfall. (88 inches)

Dublin - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Dublin - Well distributed by each month; not too intensely dark during the winters, either it isn't too sunny during the summers, near to perfect my definition.

Hamburg - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hamburg - If the May hours was lower, I would be more happy.

Stockholm - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Stockholm - Winters need just little more hours, summers much more less.

I love to lived there especially October~March in Western Washington areas, and everyone seems never bothering of rains Apparently no one wears umbrella.
Because the precipitation type is rarely downpour unlike here is common in East Coast.
Of course summers in the region is favorable to compete European-like.

B minus. Marks off for rarely reaching freezing and the high potential to spike to 40C at some point during summer.

I give it a solid C.

Winters seem anemic - cool, dull and damp. Not my kinda thing. Whilst summers are bipolar - hot today, cold tomorrow and that pattern would continue. I wouldn't stand the extreme variations and I think that people would more likely be sick from those kind of temperature fluctuations (immune system wouldn't stand it).

Melbourne isn't that wet at least, despite the dampness. I do like how it looks semi-arid in the summer (there are a lot of dry days within that season). I'm not a fan of thunder and such, so I'm glad that Melbourne lacks thundery conditions. Unlike Sydney's west (where I live) there are welcoming mild to lukewarm summer days in Melbourne. Whereas in here, nearly everyday, the temps are always soaring over 27C.

If the summers were stable and milder (no extremes - hot to cold and vice versus) I'd upgrade Melbourne's climate to C+. And if the winters were like Sydney's (16C-19C) then I would give it an even higher rating (B- or B).
Great points. I prefer it above all state/territory capitals except Canberra and Hobart, and sunshine is OK, better than the oceanic climes of Europe.

F: since:
1) it's too warm year round
2) some summer days get too extreme for my tastes
3) summers are drier than the winters

I give my home climate a C. Good summers (apart from the random 17°C days), and good winter temps but too many rainy days for not enough rain. It could do with more winter rain as well. Also a bit more sun in the summer months.

Loving the 52 F's, a certain person needs some hemorrhoid cream for that butthurt

B for me, could do with more seasonality and higher winter rain but otherwise it's good.

At the 1mm mark I think the rainy days are only at a 100 or so, likely fewer over the past decade, so it's not too bad.
