Well the whole thread has been about showing local spots. It is dramatic looking.

Too bad the "Globe" and most locations dont look like that.
Much of the Arctic does.

There's no winning this argument.

Cite any local or (relatively) short term-warming: "cherry picking!"
Cite any widespread or long-term warming: "but here's some local/short-term data that shows non-warming/cooling and that's a FACT!"

Can we just agree to disagree?

Interesting.

I only hope the trend is short term...or we might be in real long term trouble.

So basically it's not necessarily getting hotter, it's just that the weather is getting more unusual/extreme.
Exactly.

From the beginning of this century (2000-2016 period), we've recorded the hottest days and the coldest nights since records began.

This is not global warming. It's climate change.

Since the year 1926, izmit had its coldest winter in February 1929 and its hottest summer in July 2000

Since 1950, the lowest temperature recorded in izmit is only -9.7℃ while since 1926, the lowest temperature recorded in izmit is -18℃. It is a very huge difference. İzmit had a very extreme winter in February 1929. Also istanbul and other some of North-Western Turkey cities. Record lows are from February 1929.
