Nevermind the fact that the weather has been exceptionally dry and we're in a drought

I have never seen anyone surprised by rain in summer, but sometimes they're surprised when it lasts longer than five minutes. I see stupid **** like this all the time - "You know you're from Florida when you don't carry an umbrella because the rain will stop and sun will come out in five minutes." Completely ignoring the fact that it's very unusual to get periods of rain lasting less than a hour. Even if it stops raining soon, it will be miserable and overcast for a long time afterwards.

There are way too many Florida weather stereotypes the media spews out that need to be destroyed.

Here in Miami morons get surprised by summer rain all the time.....mostly out of state tourists but I see some residents here surprised by the rain.....it happens every goddamn year.

Agreed RE: the "sun coming out" stereotype. It does happen sometimes, but more often than not it'll be overcast the rest of the day after torrential downpours. The sun might come out in the late evening or something but definitely not five minutes later.

People are just idiots in general.

I certainly associate rain with cool weather. Of course here it rains pretty much all the time EXCEPT summer. There are months where the average high is in the 70s or 80s, and there are rainy months.
