I'm in the suburbs so all driveways are hard, roads all paved. etc. Sometimes kids might get wet shoes cutting across people's lawns though.

Are you kidding? Rubber boots? Nope, not likely, just not in style. Sigh. We do have paved roads, but most drives are not. That is country living for ya,some people do have paved drives but not many.

Well I might, especially when I was under 10.
So how deep can the mud get on people's driveways? Does it just stick to the bottoms, or do they ever get sucked in up to their ankles?
Are there a lot of driveways without gravel?
Most rural driveways I've seen in Ontario are either paved or gravelled.

Not too many without gravel. But we live on red clay and when it gets really wet, it makes one heck of a mess. Nasty stuff. I have seen some people's yards that don't hav a lot of grass on them one huge mess in the wet months, and yup that stuff is something else. Step onto it and down you go till you fill your boots up with it. Have had it knee deep when I was a child. So I would say in places, it can be mid calf. Most of the drives are gravelled but sometimes you run into a few that are not, and with all the construction taking place around here, it is going to be 'fun' watching all that machinery move around in that slick, sticky stuff. Oh my my my. That is, if we ever get rain...

Synopsis, I saw that. You're even in a darker shade of yellow then we're in. It sounds like your airlines are in a bit of a delay situation, too. Funny how we've had enough for the moment and others are still so parched.
Angel, I remember reading a post of yours that you were surprised at us having snow at Halloween. Well, unfortunately there have even been times we'd have snow in late Sept. It's uncommon, but it does happen.

Average high is about 70 and low about 45 here. Of course it's never average. It's been known to be in the 30's one year and 90's the next.

Halloween varies dramatically depending on the year. It could be near 80F or it could be snowing. You never know what you are going to get in the central plains.

Halloween, fond memory's.
One year I had to drive the kids around. It was snowing so bad I'd pull up at the end of a driveway and the kids would jump out and dissapear into the snow. About 2 minutes later they'd come back to the truck. We had a blast!!!!!
