Major wind here at present, with a few big eucalyptus trees down already(next years firewood). The bananas are trashed with about half of them clean snapped. Wild looking, fast moving clouds with thunder to the east and west. Unbelievably, the heavy rain is going around here- I seriously need some rain for the tanks.

Temp at 8.15 pm is 19C/66F with 79% RH.

Rainfall totals of up to 600mm/24 inches over 36 hours forecast for the southern West Coast mountains.

Temps throughout the country at 8.25 pm range from 6C down south (Alexandra) to 24C up North (Hastings).

Has finally cooled down here a pleasant top of 28C here today, partly cloudy with a moderate SW breeze. Similar conditions for the next couple of days.

Looks like all that heat that has been affecting WA will be heading across to SE Australia after all, much of inland SA, Victoria and NSW are looking at long run of 40C+ days. I notice Hobart is even expecting a forecast of 38C come Friday.

Interesting day yesterday. High of 28 C just after noon before a rainy spell brought it down to under 20 C. Then the rain ceased and the clouds broke around 3 PM allowing the temp to crawl back up to 25 C. Around 7 PM the rain returned, this time bringing a little bit of thunder and lightning. We got about 6 mm yesterday and a few more this morning. Quite an interesting day.

Very cold now -- only 15 C at 11 AM. But still pleasant due to the sun (nice to get a break from that high cloud) although it's not expected to last.

Does a high of 28 feel cool after a week of above 35 temperatures?

Well I can't say it feels cool as such, it was comfortable though and a nice relief. The minimum temperature was still around 22C yesterday, normally I feel a little uncomfortable on 20C+ nights even with a fan on, but it felt ok to me.
