Likewise torn between 5 and 6, but I went for 6 as the winters would have enough snow-free spells for a bit of variety. A mixture of 5 and 6 would be close to my ideal climate. Good thread!
Choice 4 is almost my ideal climate its almost because I don't know the records. Also the most important aspect of my ideal climate would be winters that have regular thaw and well distrubuted precipitation
Assuming they all have equal sunshine as well, I think I'd go with Choice 4. Would like warmer summers, but the balance between warm summers and not overly cold winters is the best of the choices available for me.
Choice 3 is my next favourite, followed by Choice 5. Choice 8 is the worst imo.
The more moderate climates do have somewhat more cloud just because hotter temperatures usually mean more sunny weather.
It appears that the climates neither really moderate or really continental are the most popular on here. This isn't really surprising since choice 1,2 and 8,7 are very extreme.
I wanted to see how the heat lovers and cold lovers would react as all the climates feature a positive but also a negative for heat and cold.
I'll go with number 4 as well. It's not perfect, Mar-Jun is not really an improvement from where I live, but Jul-Dec looks really good. Naturally, all these climates are too wet.
If choice 4 would be an European climate, probably near the coast because of the chilly spring, I could guess the record highs and lows:

I'm curious to see record highs and lows for choice 7 and 8.
Choice 7 and 8 being moderate climates have an average record low of 10C (18F) below and above the averages.
I have to admit I usually don't pay attention to the record lows and highs when looking at a climate. I should have at least tried to put in the record temperatues thought this would be a tricky process.
I'm rather torn. I'm usually go with the more oceanic climate, but for a climate with chilly winter, I want some period of warmth. Anything more continental than 4, the extra warmth for the summers don't give much benefit. 4 has winters that are too cold but possibly tolerable and interestingly snowy. 6 definitely looks more comfortable. I'd need record lows to decide, if 4 is too extreme or spring gets too many late frosts then 6, otherwise 4.
