I forgot to check if we set any records yesterday in Denver, but it was quite miserable lol! I know we've had at least one record low high in the past couple weeks.
Not yesterday but the day before.
...RECORD LOW TEMPERATURE SET AT DENVER CO...
A RECORD LOW TEMPERATURE OF 21 DEGREES WAS SET AT DENVER ON APRIL
22. THIS BREAKS THE OLD RECORD OF 22 SET IN 1874.
Check out the Current temps April 24, 2013 5:20pmEST. 70s to Vermont. 60s in CT. Check out Long Island. 40s!
It does feel chilly here with the winds....but good.
but How cold is that Atlantic Ocean. #
Yep. This is the one of the few times we're warmer than Long Island. Glad I'm not that there. I remember a May day where it was 80°F here and barely scrapping 50°F in Boston. And cloudy.
These cold coast situations in the spring almost always means clouds by the coast. They're getting a south wind in Long Island, but it's not bringing warmth, the opposite direction would be warmer.

Nice post. Yeah, winds are from the south. Check out the low altitude clouds/fog over Long Island now. I'm getting cloudy now from the cold front coming in and some from Long Islands clouds.. But the ocean storm near Maine is interesting too.

It was very California-like on Long Island earlier with mid 60's and no clouds whatsoever, I went indoors and then returned to sun-less low 50's and a cold breeze.
Pretty cool.. A line of 40s on Long Island. A line of 50s along the CT coast. A line of 60s for interior CT. lol I'm moving south! lol but north of Linden NJ still 70.
The spring has been slow this year as we all know, but while the average temperatures has after a cold beginning of the month climbed up to the average conditions, striking is that we haven't had a single warm day so far. April is very variable, but most Aprils gets at least a few days with 17-18C. We don't get 20C every year, but this April's max high is 11.1C! As the forecast says max temps will be around 10C for the remainder of the month, this might be the first April since 1997 when not a single day reach even 15C!
Apparently a cold front is on the way. I do hope we get a good thunderstorm then.
Anyway as for this spring not only cold, but dreadfully boring. Dry, cloudy a lot, little temperature variation. I was hoping that the cold beginning to spring and April might be balanced out by some warm spells but no not here. Of course not. That's the one weather type we don't get any more.
