Something to look forward to starting this week. Warmth! Take a look at the NAM,GFS,EURO differences for some areas though for Wednesday afternoon.

Hard to tell with a map but the data output clearly shows it for some areas. Like in CT NAM & GFS shows 70s but Euro shows low-mid 60s.

So if you were a forecaster putting out a forecast for next 3-5 days, which would you believe??

NAM and GFS for Hartford, CT

NAM has almost 80°F on Wednesday. GFS has 74°F. Would you just take the middle and say Wednesday will be 77°? This is why you see your forecasts change. Models change especially in long range.

Baltimore. GFS has 86°. NAM has 82°. Which would you choose?

No work today, so decided to go shopping, and as I got a cab to the City there and back, I noticed how lawns are going yellow and brown due to cold and lack of rain. My lawn is probably the greenest I've seen because it's still long. If I cut it, I'll probably reveal dead, yellow grass underneath. Things are certainly in a sorry state this spring.

The good news is - there are buds on the trees now, as well as a few bluebells trying to flower. The wind is also getting tedious and irritating. The actual air temperature feels very comfortable to me, but this wind needs to bugger off.

At this point I'm not surprised in the least when I hear that Buxton is experiencing the coldest weather in 20, 50, or 100 years. It will really be a change when (or if ) you finally get warmer than average weather.

And our grass hasn't started growing yet and some brown from cold. No buds yet, our forecast looks warm enough they should arrive soon, though they'll definitely be delayed by 1-2 weeks.
