hanging out in my gym's sauna
blasting car heat on max for 30+ minutes
What kind of car takes 30+ minutes to heat in a Toronto winter?

You think it is wrong that it takes 30 minutes of car heat to make me happy?

I like it when even the floor temperature of the car is 25 C/77 F.
It takes a long time to warm up the entire cabin like that.

I hate winter, cold and even cool temperatures.
That's why I moved to Australia to a summer-dominant climate.
There are many, many others like me still living in Canada; Deneb78 is one of them.

I can believe that... here it takes 15 minutes to warm my car in winter on a day with temps near freezing. Toronto is much colder than here. I HATE a cold car. Nothing worse. Get in, and the seat is frozen, the steering wheel is frozen, I am shivering as I drive, horrible. Not to mention all the condensation problems. I turn the heat and fan both up to full for a while so the temp in the car is about 30°C which is nice.

^^ At -25 C it has taken 10-15 minutes sometimes just to bring the cabin temperature above freezing! (0 C or 32 F )

I don't like big contrasts in temperature, in a car, I often prefer to leave my coat on, or at least a jacket. I'll let my car heat up to the upper 40s on short trips, mid 50s on longer ones.

I leave my coat on in the car in winter... even while it's 30°C in there. Nice.

Why are you ranting on about other city-data members who hate the cold? A car doesn't take 30+ minutes to heat where you were from- period. You are exaggerating like you do with many of your posts

I find the sensation of cooling off in an A/C room or a pool a lot more refreshing and memorable than trying to find some source of heat for your numb fingers and toes, but I still wish I lived in a climate with a truly cold winter.

I blast the heat when I first get in the car, but then usually turn the knob to roughly 3/4 to take the edge off the heat. Can get pretty hot even if I leave the fan on the lowest setting.
