We've had the most amazing weather for the long weekend -- 28 C on Friday and 26 C yesterday and today. Sunny the last couple of days too, although it was overcast for most of today. Still 21 C after 11 PM here with a nor'wester.

How are the leaves looking now joe?

I took this photo from last fall, are the leaves this color yet?

A bit different to most years, as the diurnal range has been low so far this autumn and it's still quite warm.

Trees like poplars are either totally golden or leafless. Willows are yellowish. Oaks have no change at all. Colours usually peak here in late april/early may.

I will get some photos over the next few days.

Your pic would be more typical of late may here.

Absolute junk weather for Easter here. Cold and overcast the whole time, especially Sunday and Good Friday with highs under 20C so absolute pukefied horse crap for those who went away for the long weekend.

Has been overcast here most of the long weekend, but warmer temperatures than our southern neighbours. We had around 20-30mm of rain yesterday evening. It brightened up this morning, but back to the overcast skies again.

^^ You need to move at least as far northwest as Geraldton, WA.

Newcastle's Saturday reminded me of a cooler southwestern Australian summer day.

Morning low of around 15 C with a dewpoint of 13 C?
Breezy with < 3/8 oktas (mostly clear skies) all day long.
21 C (70 F) by 9am.
25-26 C (77-79 F) from about 1pm to 4pm.
22 C at sunset but a persistent sea breeze kept things dry and very, very cool.

Seems like Melbourne's climate has a knack for being horses ass during any holiday or event. Christmas was cold and cloudy, and absolutely disgusting overcast cold southerly puke for the Formula 1 (and the race itself was one of the most boring ever to add insult to injury).

After this last week of DIARRHEA, it's looking very nice from Wednesday onwards with sunshine and highs up to 28C for the rest of the forecast.

Good on ya mate - enjoy it while you can
The last week of January (from Australia Day weekend onwards) - throughout February, especially, - and the first couple of days of March saw well above cloudy/average rainfall conditions prevailing which has since then slid downhill rapidly from the second week of last month
Feverishly hoping that April will bring the "fabled showers"
