Default Anyone ever see the Green Flash?

I finally saw one a couple of years ago, decades after I had forgotten all about it. (I first heard about it on our honeymoon.)
The Green Flash is not a myth, it is a real phenomenon.
I saw it at sunset off Cape San Blas, at the Gulf of Mexico.

I've never seen it, but I am given to understand that it generally requires a distant, level horizon to see it ... so your best chances are on a coast or in the middle of an extended prairie.

No, unfortunately not. Been to a number of tropical places by the sea too (Hawaii (3 of the islands), French Polynesia, Cook Islands, Puerto Vallarta).

Hopefully one day...

Ken

Never heard of it. Thanks for sharing the link.

Where I live I have an obstructed view of the horizon, so we see sunrises only in winter and never any direct sunsets.

heh
I know what you mean, astrogal.
I was actually in a car when I saw the green flash.
We were driving along the Cape, on a coastal highway as the sun was going down.
It was an incredible sunset, and I was in the passenger seat, so I was staring and staring and then the flash happened.

Maybe that's what some people mistake as flying saucers. Kinds looks like some of the photos I have seen that the people claim was a flying saucer. Oh, and no I haven't seen either the green flash or a flying saucer!
