Medrina is influenced by two contrasting air masses cool oceanic air and hot dry subtropical air from the so called ''Triangle basin'' these air mases fight to dominate Medrina's climate. Summers are hot and predominately dry however on occasions the cool oceanic air can bring temperatures down (mid 20s) but the dry hot air soon takes control. During the winter the cool oceanic air wins out bringing low pressure system after low pressure pressure system, however these storms loose much of its energy only bringing light to moderate falls of rain. Snow occurs a couple times a year lasting only a couple of days before melting.

New Madrid located in the ''Triangle basin'' its location ensures that summers are hot and dry borded by mountains to the west and south. The dry conditons can lead to chilly mornings. Summer droughts are common and can be servere on some years, this drought can lead to forest fires and small dust storms. Despite its location precipitation during the cooler season (September to February) is reliable giving way to thunderstorms during late summer to mid Autumn and thereafter low pressure systems.

Medrina. Summer is hotter than I like and winters a little cooler. but still a better option. The higher rainfall is a plus.
