I've seen dozens of auroras. One advantage the southern hemisphere has, is that they are seen further from the poles, even if they aren't as spectacular.

Considering your extreme latitudes, the answer is a definite no. Btw do you intend on travelling to a more northern locale someday or aren't interested at all? If you do I know it won't be for the weather.

Of course, there are quite a few places above 41N that I'm interested in visiting. PNW, Yellowstone, Alaska, Canada, and a multitude of Europe locations in particular. My current range is too small lol.
And I'd assumed a polar night was simply a specific temperature threshold, like a tropical night.
