I live in far northern California, nearly 300 miles north of San Francisco. We have not had a real winter in three years and this years winter was followed by one of our warmest and driest springs and so far this summer began with a warm and dry June and July and August that just finished is typically a foggy month with temperatures seldom above 70º, more likely in the mid 60's, but this August just finished as the warmest and driest in the 13 years I have been in this location with many days in the mid and upper 70's and several days hit the mid 80's. September has started off very warm already and the days are forecast to get hotter over the next week with some areas hitting the mid 80's on the coast. Many of the oldtimers say that this is about the hottest summer ever here on the coast and one of our driest years. Something I have not seen here are redwood trees shedding a portion of their leaves and they are doing that this year.
11h30, 17°C, the cool air has arrived after the heat of yesterday. We lost 12°C compared to yesterday at the same time/
The warm is moving towards east. Already a strong contrast between eastern and western France, from 13°C in the west to 26°C in the east
