Is it just me or is anyone else annoyed by the lack of Humid Subtropical climates with a rainy winter as oppose to a rainy summer. I don't like Mediterranean Climate summers because these rarely have warm summer lows and afternoon convectional shower or thundershower activity, even thought I do like how the winters are the main wet season. I've found a few examples of places I want on the eastern shores of the Black Sea and Adriatic Sea but otherwise I'm not finding many like examples.

Well, the ones with rain in summer tend to get more thunderstorms, which I LOVE so no problems there.

I have no problems with thunderstorms in the summer as a matter of a fact that's why I like Humid Subtropical summers. It's just that I want most of the rain in the winter.

Sochi is what you are looking for:

Sochi - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The winters aren't excessively wet though.

Thanks sadly Sochi is one of the only places like this. I'm just wondering if anyone else has climate preferences like me.

Some Japanese cities on the Sea of Japan (west) coast have humid subtropical climates with rather wet winters. However, they are also just as wet in the summer:

Tottori, Tottori - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is in contrast to Tokyo (and eastern Japan), where winter is the dry season (similar to eastern China).

Add northern Iran / southern Azerbaijan to your list:

Rasht - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sari, Iran - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Lankaran - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Though not as strong a trend, it's also a pattern in much of subtropical Australia, especially when you look at the number of rainy days:

Albury - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Superluminal is quite right when it comes to western Japan, especially, again, when you look at the number of precipitation days:

What about the Gulf Coast?

New Orleans - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Tallahassee, Florida - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Granted, there's still a summer-rain bias, but it's not all that pronounced. The winters are hardly dry.

Wow can't believe this thread has come back up. A lot of these places are great sugestions, but my favorites are Batumi Georgia, places in the Bay of Kotor and Vigo Spain, thought the latter's summers are 6ºC too cold.

I wonder whatever happened to +++Thunderstorm+++
