I wish we can see 107F/42C on the first day of June at some point this century like we did back in 1934.
I was old enough to remember this brutal cold wave back in January 1977. In kindergarten..... Check out the average highs and lows in and around Chicagoland that month. Our north and northwest suburbs such as Barrington and Antioch bottomed out the lowest I believe.... The city slightly less so thanks to proximity to the lake.... Nevertheless, bone chilling especially for 41-42N latitude

I have lived near Chicago before....and would rate it B or C.... quite variable climate like most of the Midwest-Great Lakes and in the storm path often so can see severe thundersorms-tornadoes to blizzards. But overall though a bit too mild for me in the winter I prefer a bit more below zero readings than Chicago gets.
I couldn't find any data for heat indecies during the 1995 heatwave. Do you have any links?

Record high dew points seem to be a particularly difficult record to verify. On the East Coast I can find no reference to what New York City’s highest dew point might have been. Philadelphia’s highest such was 82° on July 15, 1995 (the heat index peaked at 129°). Syracuse, New York’s record was 77° on July 4, 1999. Anecdotal on-line reports claim an 86° dew point at Virginia Beach, Virginia sometime during the summer of 1998. In general, it may be assumed that the highest dew points on record for most places east of the Great Plains would be in the 77°-85° range.
No i dont have a link but it's strange newyork city is a big city and not have a information in 1995 heat wave.
I don't think the dew points were as high as Philly or Chicago. I check the NCDC and Central Park did reach 102F on July 15th, but no dew point information is given.
