Just to clarify, that was the Thursday run of the GFS (3 days old) and for hour 66. Pretty sure things changed since then but probably close. But it wasn't a current "right now" observation. Using model forecasts arent a good way to see whats going on currently. I dont have a quick link for current temps in the Antarctic but just figured I point out the map was old and not current

Yeah, I'm starting to get rate the climate anxiety (rtca). Symptoms include nervousness, flatulence, face scratching, and eating lots of corn chips and discounted ice cream.

A good range of maximum temps in the South Island today, with max temps up this end of the island around 19-21C/66-70F, while parts of the lower south, only had highs around 2C/36F.

Winter in full swing, overcast every day and all day, sunshine hours barely scratching our already mouldy average. Forecast 13-15C all week and 7-10C lows, showers and cloud every day naturally (today being no exception).

And we are paying a carbon tax to save ourselves from "global warming".

It feels only like last week when it was winter here/summer down there. This year went by fast

^^^ Nice fog. That would be a once in two year event here.

20C/68F yesterday after a 2C/36F start, Another 2C start this morning with 19C/66F today. There should be some cooler weather by next week.

Daffodils are out now.

Beautiful sunny day here. But it seems like we're slipping into a pattern of a whole week of overcast days then one sunny day. Which is better than nothing, but I'd prefer more even sunshine.

The other negative is that I don't have the option of getting some sun after work since it's dark by then. I summer I would still have a good few hours to sunbathe.
