Some pics from my boat ride yesterday off the CT coast.

CT Coastline

As we moved along the waters not only we saw bare trees, fallen trees, sandslides, and disappearing sandbars, we came up to this lighthouse which gives a good perspective of how high the water was during Sandy. The other damage to the coastline and small islands were from recent NorEasters and even Irene year before Sandy.

Forgot to mention boarded homes were still seen and ... There was one area which you were able to walk from island to island during "high" tide 10 years ago...

It was medium tide yesterday morning and there was almost nothing to walk on except a small part. Meaning over the years storms have eroded this strip of dune going across.. About 5 feet height worth

This is that strip you were able to walk across on.(not where the birds are, the middle sand bar barely sticking up and it wasnt High tide)

Less Water Birds around. Lots lost their nesting/eggs over the years.

What town is it? The water looks very calm. Probably different on the SE side of Long Island tho.

You noticed. It's off the Norwalk & Westport Connecticut coast in Long Island Sound. Yeah, thats typical for the sound to be calm like that.

This is the beach view of a typical windless day in Norwalk, CT.. Long Island is about 15 miles to the left(East) & straight down (south) of this picture.

This is during a typical coastal storm

This is a normal day just up the line in Milford CT (still Long Island Sound)

This is during Tropical Storm Irene .. Video Here of waves

First 3 I took.

A few minutes after midnight.. I'll miss the the long summer days, I dislike the August-October period as the days are not long or short enough to be of interest.

I knew you'd make a comment.. it's bright enough that I can easily make out detail without additional help.

Anyway, do I really need to bring out more images of Kiruna, a place of 24-hour daylight?

I also like how there are snow patches on Ben Nevis still - they almost look like mini-glaciers. Not unusual mind you, but still nice to look at.
