Yes our average humidity in May is about 75% and the mean temperature is 12°C / 54°F
for May, so the average dewpoint is about 8-10°C / 46-50°F for that time of year.
A dewpoint in the 60s is absolutely rare here in May, even more so at the beginning of the month.
Then we also had quite a cold and dry spring this year with the highest dewpoints barely leaving 40s, so this indeed quite a change.
Looks like the DP starts to drop now, its 61°F now and should go back to the low 50s with the cold front coming this afternoon.
Its been an above temperature week but dew points have been pleasant, and that will be changing. The H8 temperatures of 14-15C Saturday with light swly sfc flow are above normal for early May. With no rain in a week at most locations and daytime mixing aided by the decent amounts of sunshine will move mercury readings into the upper 80s to low 90s. Sat Record highs are 93 at SDF, and 95 at BWG and LEX, so records are just a tad out of reach. Dew Points will climb into the low to mid 60s so early summer sultry air is really here. You will notice a distinct airmass change for outdoor activities.
Current Dew points well above normal for this time of year. With air temp in the 60s its obviously not as bad as air temp in the 80s...But its is MORNING. Feels like Summer
Dewpoint here: 63°F
That 70 in NJ is McGuire Airforce base often has off readings but who knows. It's not that far off from Mount Holly near there at 67
