Got only drizzle from that bright red spot in northwest Massachusetts for like 2 minutes. Another bout of more widespread batch of rain. And then sweet imported dry air from Canada!
This was our fifth consecutive day hitting a 75°F+ dewpoint. I’ll have to look up the last time we had such a streak here, but would guess not since 2011.
Day #6 here, and likely the end of this run. Last such streak here was in 2016 with 9 consecutive days of 75°F+ dew points, almost 10 but that day peaked at 73°F.
This streak peaked at 78°F (multiple days), 2016 peaked at 84°F.

Hey again, I don't know if you're talking about your PWS or what, but I'm fairly certain that no station within a 50-mile radius of NYC has ever recorded a dew point of 84F. ISP all time record is 81 F, and 2016 peaked at 78F (in August). This isn't really a matter of not being near an airport or evapo-transpiration or whatever, 84F is just an unreasonable number for any place on LI. You can feel free to correct me if you have data that suggests otherwise, though.

Lexington hasn’t exceeded 76° in 3 years (July 2015). But the duration has been impressive recently.

No PWS data, JFK really recorded an 84 degree dew point back on August 13th, 2016:
Not at all unreasonable, the airport sits along a large, very shallow lagoon in a massive urban area. Initially, the NWS questioned the accuracy of the reading, but after what I assume was an investigation, it remains official.
*I used to live near there, I should’ve mentioned that, I see my post sounds a bit misleading. Southwestern Long Island (then) and Central Long Island (now), there’s not a mega difference between the two, except the lows are a few degrees warmer in western Long Island, highs are roughly the same.
