What are thunderstorms like in Sydney and do they get their own version of *Santa Anna* winds that causes hundreds of thousands to lose power when they are really bad?
Does Australia have power outages from thunderstorms a lot?
Long Beach airport is just over 6km inland and the coastline there arcs southwards, and is a long way from the east-facing shores so it's not quite as exposed to seabreezes as people might think.
But on the whole, coastal LA is cooler than coastal Sydney, is less humid, has far, far less thunderstorms so I pick Sydney.

Long Beach Airport And Downtown Long Beach are practically the same, all the smog and pollution from the Port of LA and Port of Long Beach sits atop Downtown and makes it as warm as the airport, sometimes its even warmer.
Actually, quite to the contrary, Sydney's coast is less humid.
The humidity in our coast is 64% on average and LA's coast is at 76% (this is in the summer).
Where is the LA data taken from? A better measure would be to use dewpoint, as it eliminates the variable of differing air temps which affect the RH% at any given dewpoint.
Okay that's the most ridiculous thing I read this week. You really are running out of theories aren't you?
its not ridicoulous because ive been frequenting the area for over 10 years and know that that there is little variability, by one or two degrees, it certainlty feels the same, and my car thermometer reads the same too, soo?? what do you know about LBC all you frequent is San Francisco to San Jose, now there you can certainlty feel a difference.
Malibu and Santa Barbara are south facing beaches too and the temps there are similar to the rest of coastal L.A. Difference is temps in Long Beach are clearly taken at the airport, where it is warmer and sunnier.
havent you ever driven on the 710 from 405 to DTLB and look at your car thermometer, it changes little to nothing.
