Let's face it.

No bloody summers and you're lucky if you get 2-3 warm days ever. Winters are also unreliable although in recent years coldie lovers have had no shortage of snow and cold but that is quite atypical usually.

But summers are totally spasticated, and also seem to go by these days without even a single thunderstorm either. With its lack of storms, proper heavy downpours, heatwaves, blizzards, and anything remotely interesting, I've got sick of the climate of this cloudy hell hole. A cloudy cesspit like this cannot be fun for any weather fan. Even the high pressure is freaking cloudy.

I've decided the UK has the most boring weather in the world. Even more boring than San Diego. At least there you can go outside and enjoy the weather on the beach or do more outdoor activities without freezing your nadgers off. Screw the UK's pathetic climate.

I would have to agree. Do climates (Temperate Oceanic) are my least favorite climate type as well.

Temperate oceanic climates often have very mind numbing weather, often dull and dreary a good part of the year. The cool martime climates don’t allow real hot weather to develop that often, and high pressure is often quite fleeting. I also think it’s just as much a latitude issue as well; Most Temperate oceanic climates are located in the higher latitudes (above 47 North), so the solar angle is often low(ish) much of the year.

On the other hand, most oceanic climates are quite livable in terms of humans. Look at it this way….how long would we last if this was our forecast everyday ?

I'm not a fan of oceanic climates, so the lack of extremes, cool summers, surprisingly mild winters for being so far up north (1225km north of Chicago), and lack of sunshine, for me would certainly make the UK's climate boring and gloomy.

No offense, but San Diego is much worse. Well at least the UK has snow, sometimes gets heatwaves to 100f or so, seldom sub 0F snowstorms, heavy rain and thunderstorm. San Diego has no summer rain, and those boring temps mean little weather interest compared to UK, or even my boring hometown. Enjoy your climate, you are lucky to live in Buxton I would move there instantly if I can.

Lucky to live in Buxton LOL first time I'd heard that. I can't stand snow personally and living in probably the snowiest town in England I get pretty angry whenever we get our usual winter dumpings. San Diego's climate looks boring on paper I agree, but as a warm "lover" I would be outside doing a lot more much more of the time. Here I can't enjoy that as it's too cold, wet etc...

San Francisco and parts of Chile are probably worse, but in Europe? Yes.

Well, you had a winter... in March, but where's your summer? But wait until autumn, I bet you'll have a beautiful sunny one with lovely fall colours, while we have rain and sleet.

Yes.

i would imagine that there is potential for some amazing autumn/winterstorms, though. at least in the west. the windspeed record looks impressive.
