I certainly don't expect Canada to ever warm to current tropical levels without destroying the Earth but if Vancouver area became roughly like the SF Bay area and Toronto area became like Atlanta, then I'd be satisfied enough

I don't think you'd have to ruin the Earth, just the Earth as we know it. In the Eocene period the Antarctic coast had a warm tropical climate.

If Atlantic Canada was like the coast of the Carolinas that would be perfect to, except for the hurricanes.

Take Earth back to the Jurassic period, when everywhere was suitable for reptiles. Massive greenhouse effect.

I would like the earth's mean temperature to be increased by 5°C (9°F).

, actually the end of the period is better. In fact I prefer the end of the Carboniferous Period.

Actually, after reading this, forget that period as well. LOL

"Average global temperatures in the Early Carboniferous Period were hot- approximately 20° C (68° F). However, cooling during the Middle Carboniferous reduced average global temperatures to about 12° C (54° F). As shown on the chart below, this is comparable to the average global temperature on Earth today!"

Pertaining to my area, decrease summer temperatures around here by about 15F, increase summer ocean temperatures by 5F, decrease average winter temperatures by about 10F, and triple our number of snowy days.

I can dream, can't I?

Warm up the winters. Cool down the summers. More longer sunny spells and hailstorms.

Cool it down, it would be great for those living in tropical climates, and for those in northern ones, well big fires and giant coats? :P.
