Tomorrow is the first day of college for me. Have classes from 12-9 PM. Hope I can Make it back at 9:00 PM in time before the snow turns bad. I really don't like driving in heavy snow that much. It destroys my car's beautiful body .
Lucky you in terms of the start dates alone. Hope you have the driving-in-snow experience!
I myself have a programming assignment due tomorrow, and only have driven through blinding squalls, with no one travelling in the same direction for miles, that did not accumulate to anything.
Radar and temps. The east most station reporting snow is around Harrisburg. Beginning stuff will be flurries/light. Start time should be after 1pm for Eastern CT. Before 1 for Western CT
Blue outline is SPC concern for heavy snow which will be expanded later on
Quick look at the 500mb heights right now. Watch how the trough changes in the East and takes on a slight negative tilt. But basically here's Mt Holly discussion too add with it..
"A SHARPENING SHORT WAVE TROUGH ROUNDING
THE BASE OF THE BROAD EAST COAST TROUGH THAT IS CURRENTLY MOVING
THROUGH THE MID-MISSISSIPPI VALLEY THIS MORNING. AS THIS SHORT WAVE
GETS CLOSER TO OUR AREA, IT WILL BE STRENGTHENING AN AREA OF LOW
PRESSURE ACROSS THE CENTRAL APPALACHIANS, BEFORE MOVING OFFSHORE
LATER THIS AFTERNOON INTO THIS EVENING"
Lake effect snow caused white out conditions on parts of the Chicago area last night. This is infont of the WGN News Studio in the city.... Over 7 inches at Midway airport, and about 6 inches at O'Hare. Lakeshore communities (like Glenview) have reported 10+ inches so far. So basically now our seasonal snow fall total is up to around 45 inches
I55 this morning
Currently 3F/-16C at O'Hare and 5F/-15C at Midway. Down here we are at 7F/-14C. I have to leave the house now... Wind chills are biting
