This winter may end up tied as the third coldest on record, maybe even second. WOW

As of today, 71 days with at least 1 inch/2.5cm of snow on the ground this winter (Midway). No reason why we wont have at least 15 more days looking at the long range. No melt in sight... In fact more snow! Maximum snowdepth thus far isn't that impressive at 35.6cm

Back to 4 more weeks of winter. Then I am ready for constant 50's and 60's with sunshine for 1 month.

That's normal up here. May is usually when the 70's and 80's arrive. This isnt sticky Florida.

We usually get a little taste of summer in April.

There it is....The piece of the Polar Air that's breaking off.. Blues and darker blues are pretty much as cold as it gets in northern Hem (I have rarely seen -45C or lower at 850mb)

If you guys get a chance try to find a Northern Hemisphere loop of either the 500mb heights or 850mb temps. It is absolutely fascinating to watch any time of year!

Everything keeps moving and looping around. Those blue temps are going to push down to near the US/CAN border.. Add a northwest flow type into US and Boom, "FRESH" cold air as we've been seeing on the models for weeks now.
