Cold snap seems to be over here for the time being. The cold air has moved to the east and south as evidenced by multiple posts above. Dropped to -19.5C yesterday morning but up to plus 2C today.

Forecast calls for above freezing max temperatures until the weekend then the cold returns. Forecast high on Sunday is -16C.

Impressive stuff!

I'm Currently 21°F.
Dewpoint of 15.5F.
Winds Calm
Barometer 1022mb.

Has not been this cold outside since February 21st, 2013. The lowest Normal minimum for an entire year is 23° at Bridgeport which comes in January.

20s made it down to northern Gulf states. Teens in Oklahoma. Feels like 20s down to New Orleans

That's pretty normal in this neck of the woods. Many times we've had that here. We get the same annual sunshine hours as Manchester.

Looking at the way US cities can go from very cold to very mild in a few days I actually have to say at this time of year I much prefer that pattern than the boring, static crap in my oceanic climate. It gets so tedious here this time of year. I wish we could have alternating cool/warm snaps that lasted like 2-3 days each at a time and balanced out rather than continuous cool dismal rubbish the same day after day.
