The national weather service in taunton has issued a
* flash flood watch for portions of northern
connecticut...western/central massachusetts as well as interior
northeast massachusetts. In southern new hampshire...cheshire
and hillsborough counties are included.
* until midnight edt tonight
* showers and thunderstorms will continue to increase in areal
coverage through the afternoon. A few of the strongest storms
will train over the same region...producing rainfall rates of 2
inches in less than 1 hour. This may lead to areas of localized
flash flooding. The heaviest of the rainfall should come to an
end after midnight.
* a flash flood watch means that conditions may develop that lead to
flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
